Whether you are trying to upgrade your existing lift chair to a much better one or just do not have the need for it anymore, you will eventually need to sell the lift chair. It would not make any sense to just throw it into the trash! There are literally thousands of buyers available both online as well as offline, who would gladly purchase the lift chair, provided it is in a relatively good condition.
Obviously, you would want the best price and worth for your existing lift chair. The best method to determine the appropriate pricing for the chair would be to start with the buying price. This would be the same price as what you paid for the lift chair when you purchased it. You will then need to subtract the depreciation value from this price every year by a 15% margin. As an example, if you had bought the chair for a price of 1000 dollars, then after a period of a year, you would be selling it for (1000 - (15% x 1000)), that is 850 dollars. Thus, the minimum price for selling off the lift chair needs to be at least 850 dollars. You must take into account the current condition of your lift chair. If the chair is covered with stains of coffee or exudes sparks when you hit the press button, it obviously is not in a good state. In such a case, you would need to settle for a much lower price.
Listing it
In order to get buyers interested in the purchase, you would obviously have to do a bit of advertising and promotion. Try listing the details of the lift chair in the classifieds section of your local newspapers and magazines. You can even choose to list it online at some of the reputed online classifieds sites. Such sites allow greater exposure, more prospective buyers and of course, a better deal in terms of the sale price. It is important that you include all details about your contact information such as telephone number, your name, the asking price for the lift chair as well as the model number of the chair.
Making the arrangements
If you find a prospective buyer asking about the lift chair, you need to make arrangements for them to come and pick up the chair. Most lift chairs are much heavier compared to the conventional, ordinary chairs and hence it might need at least two people to pick up. Hence, ensure to inform the buyer that they need to bring in someone else for help while moving the chair.
Underestimating the chair value
Setting the proper value for your lift chair is probably going to be the most important and crucial step because that is what will determine the value you get from the buyer. Many people tend to underestimate the true value of the chair because they are scared they will not get the price if they ask too much. While that maybe true to an extent, you need to calculate properly so you ask a price, which is fair to you as a seller.
