Once you know what size and design of lift chair you want, there is still the decision of what kind of upholstery and color you want. There are a lot of choices in these categories, too. One popular fabric type is called Brisa, a polyurethane fabric with a ventilation system that allows the fabric to "breathe" and keep you comfortable for many years. It is stain and scratch resistant and stays cooler than leather in warm weather conditions and resists stiffening in cold environments. Brisa is easy to clean with soap and water, or alcohol based cleaners like Fantastik. It can even be disinfected with a 5:1 bleach solution. And it is available in 20 different colors, from unobtrusive neutrals like Sterling Blue and Coffee Bean to more exotic colors like Celery and Heather.
For people who want a more traditional furniture look and do not want or need a reclining lift chair, Risedale makes a seat-lift chair in a traditional looking wing back style. The chair is available in classic brocade fabric in Sand, Midnight, Spruce, and Cabernet. This lift chair does not look like a lift chair. In fact, the power levers are removable, making it look just like an ordinary chair when not in use. The lever can go on either the right or left side. Another unusual option in the Risedale chair is custom, adjustable height legs that can lower the chair 1 1/2 inches if necessary. Leg extensions can be removed with the hex key that comes with the chair. Risedale also makes a matching ottoman and it, too has adjustable legs. Another advantage to the Risedale chair is that since only the seat bottom lifts, the chair itself can go right up to a wall and still work as intended.
Pride lift chairs are recliner type lift chairs, and they come in a variety of fabric styles and colors. The factory standard fabric is available in Almond, Oatmeal, Midnight Blue, Emerald, and Merlot. Optional fabrics add five more color options, padded suede and Micro-suede are each available in 4 colors, and Levante Vinyl is also available in four colors.
There is no shortage of options when it comes to buying lift chairs to suit your decor. Lift chairs may look like a comfy recliner, or they may look dignified in a wing style. Color choices range from muted to exotic, and there are many choices for upholstery, both natural and synthetic. While a lift chair may be a medical device designed to help specific medical conditions, they are made so that they can look right at home in any room.
